Tips For Safely Replacing Your Windshield

When you need to replace your windshield, it's important to order the correct replacement. The size, shape, and type of windshield can vary depending on the make and model of your vehicle. You'll also need to decide whether you want an OEM (original equipment manufacturer) or aftermarket windshield.

There are a few things to keep in mind when you're looking for an RV windshield replacement in Glendale. First, you'll want to make sure that the company you choose has experience replacing RV windshields.

If you're not sure which windshield to order, consult your local auto glass shop or the dealership where you purchased your vehicle. They'll be able to help you select the right replacement windshield for your car.

Carefully remove the old windshield

To safely remove your old windshield, follow these steps:

1. Park your vehicle in a safe, flat area and set the parking brake.

2. Place a thick towel or piece of cardboard under the lip of the windshield to catch any falling glass.

3. Using a putty knife or similar tool, carefully score the sealant around the perimeter of the windshield.

4. Insert a thin blade between the glass and metal flange, and gently pry up on the glass to detach it from the flange.

5. Carefully lower the windshield out of the frame and set it aside. Be sure to dispose of it properly; many auto glass companies will recycle old windshields.
